Breast Liposuction for women
About the procedure
Breast liposuction among women is a procedure that can lead to both a significant volume reduction and a moderate but also pleasant lifting. This breast lifting effect occurs as a result of the breast reduction in weight, which aids normal elasticity of the skin to lift it.
The application of microcannulas allows the conduction of the procedure with minimal postoperative pain and rapid recovery after that. The return to normal daily activities also happens quickly.
After liposuction, the shape of the breasts does not change. They become smaller and lifted – a scaled-down version of their previous shape.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of scars remain after the pocedure
After liposuction using microcannulas, most patients do not get visible scars. Microincision scars usually disappear within a few months. These micro incisions are really small, round and have a diameter of about 1 mm. Remaining scars from the incisions are slightly smaller than 1 mm and are almost invisible.
Advantages of microcannulа apication in breast liposuction:
- Quick recovery – usually the patient are able to return to work and normal social activity within 2-3 days after the procedure;
- No scars remaining;
- Reduction of breast volume by 20-50%
- Minimal risk of postoperative complications;
Problems of excessively large female breasts
Excessively large female breasts cause pain and suffering, physical impairment and psychological problems. Options for sport activities are extremely limited. Breast weight leads to changes in posture and can cause chronic pain in the back, the neck, the shoulders and the lower back.
Pressure caused by the straps of the bra can result in permanent dents in the shoulders.
Excessively large female breasts may lead to a precondition for candida skin infections in the friction areas, such as the areas under the breasts.
Problems with finding suitable bras and well-fitting clothes also become some serious difficulties.
Who is a suitable candidate for this procedure?
The best results are obtained through liposuction of breasts, containing a lot of fat accumulation. These are, for example, the breasts of women who have gone through menopause. A suitable candidate should also have realistic expectations.
Who is not a suitable candidate?
Not every woman is a suitable candidate for breast liposuction. Some women have breasts that can only be reduced through a traditional breast reduction procedure like excision. Such are usually the breasts with more glandular than fat tissue.
Is breastfeeding possible after breast liposuction ?
If a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth after breast liposuction, she will most likely be able to breastfeed. The reason is that the conduction of the microcannula procedure causes very slight damages to the glands and ducts which produce milk.
Should preoperative mammographs be taken?
It is better to take a preoperative mammogram before undergoing liposuction. Thus, any presence of malignant tumors will be examined. This mammogram can as well be useful for the comparison with any future ones. Also, a good idea is taking a mammogram 6 months after surgery for any new calcifications to be examined. Formations of calcifications are rare after a liposuction through microcannulas.
Recovery after breast liposuction
Swellings are normal to occur after the procedure. The edema gradually reduces over the next 8 to 16 weeks. Both, the use of drainage and wearing compression garments minimize hematomas. It is normal to experience a feeling of lumps in the breasts – patients can feel them through palpation but they are invisible. These lumps are a part of the normal recovery process and usually disappear within a few weeks after surgery.
Postoperative breast compression
Optimal breast compression after breast liposuction minimizes lumps and hematomas formation, accelerates the recovery process and relieves postoperative pain. Your surgeon will provide you with detailed and accurate information, what kind compresses and how long they should be applied after the procedure.
Possible complications after breast liposuction
Like any surgery, breast liposuction also may bring risks of complications such as bleeding, hematomas and infections. Through correct implementation of the procedure and proper postoperative behavior, occurrence of such complications is extremely rare.
